As a Kaplan University graduate, you are on your way to a future bright with possibility. But for Kaplan University’s 19,000 plus graduates, moving on does not mean losing touch with our dynamic academic community.
The Kaplan University Alumni Association website, Kaplan Connections, was launched at the 2009 graduation ceremony in Chicago, IL. The website is a terrific resource that allows graduates to remain connected to both the University and to peer networks. The association will eventually be led by elected officers, comprised of both alumni and faculty.
“Students work hard at building their personal and professional networks during their program, and it’s refreshing to see how well Kaplan University understands the value of continuing and fostering those connections,” said Mary Lynn Gautreaux, Alumni Relations Manager. “Given the right platform, these friendships can continue to grow for a lifetime.”
The alumni website is the key platform for keeping graduates connected. Kaplan Connections offers the following:
- an alumni directory
- community events calendar
- career resource services
- alumni success stories
- notes from faculty members
- blogs, discussion forums, and polls
In addition, alumni will find links to helpful articles on topics including money and finance, life and leisure, health and wellness, and general motivational pieces.
Another important part of the new alumni network is the continued development and growth of the Mentoring Program which pairs highly motivated students with engaged alumni in similar career fields for the purpose of professional development. The program provides a unique opportunity for students to interact with alumnus to receive mentoring, encouragement, guidance and support. For mentors, the rewards come from being able to share their knowledge and experience with their mentees and to know they have made a difference in their lives.
